The water bill in my area is now issued by Perbekalan Urus Air Selangor. It used to be from Jabatan Bekalan Air Selangor. Why and how the change of name came into the picture is something I no longer care about. However, I do know that Puas is a crony company of Umno.

As a consumer, I am upset with the service and quality of water being supplied to my house. I am paying Puas for treated water, for safe consumption by my family. Treated water? Safe for consumption? No longer so - every house in the neighbourhood is installing a master water filter/purifier.

First and foremost, we are paying water tariffs based on assumption that Puas supplies us with treated and safe water. However, the water that reach our homes is not up to standards. Anybody who looks at the condition of the water filter after being used for half a day will testify that Puas has cheated us.

Because of Puas' failure (despite reaping millionst in profit), I have to invest more than RM2,000 to treat the 'treated' water! Then I have to maintain the water filter every now and then, which further costs me money.

As if my suffering is not good enough, since the last few years I (just like the rest of us) have to pay to Indah Water Consortium for 're-treating' the waste water which has been 'treated' twice (first by Puas and second by consumers like me).

To add insult to injury, Puas recently cut off the supply to my house, claiming that I did not settle the bill. I had to rush home from office to prove them wrong.

I called Puas and told them that I have settled the bills through my Maybank online payment, and I have proof. The officer told me that online payment was not really 'online'!

My water supply resumed the same day, but not without a cost. The officer told me that I would still be billed RM10 to reconnect the water supply as the disconnection had already been done!

Now I understand why Puas can make huge profits! I can only do one thing to respond to this kind of blatant profiteer: Say No to BN in the next election!
