I learn with dismay that in Subang Jaya, there are 46 policemen on duty, including those manning the enquiry desk, the lockup and on general duty, while the population is about 500,000, thereby making the ratio of police to population of 1:10870 people.

If I were not mistaken, New Straits Times recently reported that even gangsters were advertising their services in newspapers at a range of different prices with the claim that they had police protection.

When MCA public services and complaints bureau head Michael Chong responded to the advertisement and rang up the number before reporters of Chinese media, he was informed that the contents of advertisement were true.

Whether the advertisement was a joke or true, people will readily believe given the present public perception that lawlessness is prevailing.
