I refer to the letter 'Water spat could drown Pak Lah' by Pak Lah Supporter. The writer states that "I think it is really silly for the Singaporean government to make the subject controversial again at this crucial period of power transition in Malaysia."

That is inaccurate. The book was published three months ago in Singapore and I happened to chance upon it while browsing in April and purchased a copy.

Whether it should have been published or not, I offer no opinion. However, to attribute any motive in the timing close to Pak Lah's accession is factually incorrect.
