P Dev Anand Pillai: Dear Zaid Ibrahim, please don't forget how your law firm became the biggest in the country at one time. It could not have been done without the help of Umno and the power barons that control it.

If Anwar ever goes back into Umno, that will be the last of him politically. He might as well retire to his village in Cherok Tokun.

SusahKes: Let's see now, what would happen if Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim rejoins Umno.

1) 51 percent of voters who rejected Umno at the last GE will now reject him.

2) PAS, DAP will reject him.

3) What then, is Anwar going to do if and when he becomes PM? Sing 'Kumbayah' and hope that trust would be restored?

Anwar can throw away his MGR glasses. No more impressing the Indian crowd with his song routines. Fantasy fairy tales are over.

If Anwar ever enters into a marriage of political convenience to suit his ambition, I wonder how the masses would respond. Remember Bersih, Hindraf, etc?

Do we expect the rakyat to just sit in their homes and watch Astro? Or could we expect them to 'turun padang' again to protest? Or will Anwar, now, the Umno DPM, jail everyone? Interesting days indeed.

EvenSteven: Zaid, a bit too far-fetched don't you think? By the way, what is your rationale for crashing Anwar's party in Kajang?

It won't work and it will backfire on you in that you won't know where to hide your face when the results are out. There's a chance you might even lose your deposit. BN's Chew Mei Fun will come in a distant second.

Hplooi: Cutting through all the personal innuendo, the following may perhaps make sense.

1) Anwar is possibly negotiating with PM Najib Razak on some kind of consensus. Again, this would be the most viable option for Najib to counter the extreme right-wing faction (the 'Bolsheviks' party within the party who are trying to bring back 'firm, draconian' government), but of course barring scenario 2 below.

2) Anwar, after embedding into the Najib government may possibly mount a coup-d'état from within. This may not be negative for Najib (however, not for his followers) if his strategy is merely to extend his stay in power (whether with real or putative powers) and to negotiate a final 'profitable' exit without too many loose ends.

A third possibility is when the 'Bolsheviks' faction fast forwards their action plan. Other unknown factors would be the army and police (or are they unknown?). This is just a gist of 'game-theory' analysis.

Anonymously: It is like telling me that Madonna is joining a nunnery. Zaid, I am your supporter but I am beginning to get disappointed with your words and deeds.

There is no denying that Anwar has gone through much and has done much to give a voice to the people. Despite his failings, he is clearly a cut above many, perhaps most, including you.

Truthseeker: Actually and really, what is Zaid doing in Kajang? A 'lallang' politician will never survive in Malaysia.

Anonymous #33877536: Zaid, why do people (politicians with no backbone) keep banging Anwar? The more you guys bang him, the stronger he becomes. So keep banging him. You guys are actually cleansing him of his bad karma.

Swipenter: Zaid is saying that PM (Umno Baru) has to work with everybody except Anwar, PKR and DAP. In other words, the status quo remains with PAS taken into BN again.

Sounds like an Umnoputera (or even a Hasan Ali), and looks like a Umnoputera, but it's Zaid.

We did have much hope for a united and prosperous Bolehland first under Dr Mahathir Mohamad, then Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and not so much under Najib. Unfulfilled high hopes and broken promises are what we have now for a Bolehland divided by race and religion.

If race and religion factors were to be left out in developing the country and nation building, we would most likely have surpassed Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea and be a first-class developed nation by now.

Now we are even struggling to maintain our status as a fast emerging developing nation. We need a clean if not radical break from the existing politics that is plaguing Bolehland.

Without the Malays embracing a mind revolution to embrace the politics of idealism, this country is doomed to fail.

Sarajun Hoda: Fantastic theory, Zaid. It will make a good script for a Mickey Mouse movie. So you expect Najib to save himself by clinging onto a falling anchor?

Malaysian 1: Zaid, why don't you rejoin Umno? That would be a more positive move.

Dr Joyce Lee: When Zaid said something that makes sense but unfavourable to Pakatan especially PKR, he will always be lambasted by the many blind loyalists of Pakatan. All in all, Malaysians will be forever conned by politicians. Life will be the same.

Sabm: Whether BN has changed for the better or Pakatan for the worse, the people will still vote opposition. So it does not matter whether today Anwar is with Pakatan, or tomorrow with BN.

Once a matured two-party system is in placed then BN and Pakatan will have to prove to the people whether they are worthy of administering our beloved country.
