YOURSAY ‘But at least MIC doesn’t change its spots every now and again like Waytha.’

Sever ties with 'tuan', Waytha tells 'slave' MIC

Awakened: Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia (PHM) chief P Waythamoorthy, MIC will never leave BN.

If indeed MIC leaves BN, it will die a natural death because there seems to be no Indian-majority seat in any of the 222 parliamentary seats. Strategically, it is unwise for Indians to fight for Indians because Indians consist of less than 8 percent of total population.

Don't go for race-based but for needs-based politics. Today, MIC seats depend on Malay and Chinese votes. If MIC leaves BN, who will MIC depend on? From the Indian votes alone?

Anonymous_4031: Waythamoorthy resigned from the cabinet. Now, it is MIC's turn to do the most honourable thing - leave BN, and show to the Indian community that you leaders are not "slaves" in BN.

It is also MCA's turn to do the most honourable thing and leave BN. Then, what about Gerakan? PBS? SUPP? PPP? PRS? Are the leaders there for the people? Or are they there to serve their own self-interests, for the salaries, allowances, perks and holiday trips?

And what about those "squirrels" and "monkeys" that jump from tree to tree, hoping to pick up some "fruits" and use the political parties for self-advancement?

Anak, Bangsa, Malaysia: Over to you, MIC. What have you got to say? All BN component parties must leave BN and let Umno rot by itself. Umno has swindled the nation’s riches.

Supercession: The arrogance of Waythamoorthy. Everyone must do what he says. Is he suffering from some kind of a combination of megalomania and God syndrome?

Doesn't he understand that, for decades, MIC has “chosen” to worship Umno for self-serving reasons? Waythamoorthy should just shut up and first save his brother Uthayakumar, who is in jail for sedition, before expecting others to obey his will.

Lim Chong Leong: At least MIC doesn’t change its spots every now and again like Waythamoorthy, who pretends and slams Umno all the time but at the crucial 11th hour, turns coat and joins the PM with his 10-point lies and deceive all his supporters, however few it may be, who trusted him. And what did they get?

Survivor: Waythamoorthy may have done wrong but he also tested and proved the hypocrisy and lies of Umno Baru, but above all, he has made clean and clear his objective, failing which he severs that working relationship with Umno Baru.

Give this man credit where credit is due. Observe Waythamoorthy’s and PHM’s future move and direction and then we shall decide whether to provide him the people's support.

Anonymous #57883242: Waythamoorthy you are doing right to redeem yourself. Go all out in Kajang and support Pakatan Rakyat (but not Anwar) and return to your original purpose - a creditable pressure group.

P Dev Anand Pillai: Good try, Waythamoorthy, but the mandores are quite well-stuffed by their masters for them to leave the union. They are the Indian arm of Umno, they will stay with their partners as long as it benefits them.

It is for the Indians to leave them and look for other avenues to make the Malay leadership of this country accept every Malaysian as an equal.

Ah Hoe: I don't have the slightest sympathy for Waythamoorthy. He was the PHM leader who said so arrogantly prior to GE13 that that it was inconsequential whether Ravana or Rama ruled the country, implying he didn't care who - bad or good - rules the country so long as he got what he wanted. So don't cry to the world now, Waythamoorthy.

SpongeBob: Most of the Indians are self-made through self struggle in an competitive environment, except for the MIC members and leaders who benefited themselves through Umno by being a “slave” to them.

MIC is just a mere representation in BN government without any power, but with paid salaries for the leaders.

So, whether we are represented or not in the government, it does not make a great difference to the Indian community.

What saddens most the Indian community is that MIC leaders are taking the Indians for a ride in the pretext of representing them.

Anonymous_40f4: MIC is all about status, minister posts and wealth. Every now and then, they make press statements that they are fighting for the Indians, and BN or PM Najib Abdul Razak does a lot for the Indians.

They say the Umno government has allotted RM200 million here and RM500 million there for the Indians but actually it is a big "illai" or "nehi" (no). Ask former MIC chief S Samy Vellu, he is having the last laugh.

Ronald: You, Waythamoorty, ought to be ashamed of yourself. By your very selfishness, you have brought your own community down. Now, you are talking like a sour grape. Just pack up and go away, you have lost all semblance of dignity.

Rupert Jason: Enough MIC. Enough of the lies. At least PHM is principled enough to call a spade a spade. Najib has plainly cheated the Indians. He signed memorandum of umderstanding (MOU) openly and admitted the government had failed the Indians.

He promised to give enough budget to Waythamoorthy to solve the community’s problems. But not a single sen was given. It’s time for MIC to show they have some honour left in them.

Ace: It will be easier to get the Indians to dump MIC and Umno and try out the other alternative. Nothing to lose and possibly lots to gain.
