Doc: What's with these BN leaders? Have they ever heard of the statement 'riding off into the sunset'? Chua Soi Lek, S Samy Vellu, Abdul Taib Mahmud, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, etc, are all the same. It's a BN disease.
I wonder if it is the 'power crazy', 'secure my son as party president' or the 'wallop more money' effect that makes these 'has been' politicians cling on to power.

Now you talk so much about your successor Liow Tiong Lai not being able to do anything but sloganeering. Isn't that the BN thing, just like the PM himself?
And you talk as if you did so much for the party when it was you who led the party into the GE13 battle and got thrashed, not by DAP but by the people.
So even if 'Brutus' Liow is ineffective, it is not for you to say but some other leader who has done good and has done what's best for the people.

You see, your criticism of MCA today is only vis-à-vis factional politics and those against you. You were president of the party and so also there were many before you who were presidents.
What have all the presidents talked about and done during their reign of the party? Yes, they fought their potential rivals and they sought positions and goodies. What else did they do?
Yes, the opposition was defeated repeatedly by MCA and that was because the party had never overwhelmingly depended on Chinese votes (Umno will make sure of that) and the fact that we have a fake democracy (till today).
As I read through your interview, I could only discern one sentence (the second last paragraph) that may sound relevant to MCA and that is:
“Besides an end to infighting, Chua said, the second thing that can help MCA claw back the Chinese voters is for the party to clearly contribute to the overall BN policymaking machinery.”
Now you tell me what has MCA done in this department the last half a century? In fact, it is not just the policymaking, what about implementation of policies that had been agreed upon by BN?
I have said this many times earlier and I want to repeat it: the role of MCA the past half a century has been to nurture and inculcate Umno (through appeasement, kowtowing, inaction and corruption) into a supremacist party with its false sense of entitlement and unreasonableness, which are now clearly manifested for all to see.
I hold the MCA and all other nincompoop parties within BN, including Persatuan Hindraf, responsible and accountable for my lowly status and dignity as a Malaysian-born citizen.
Now, you Chua and all past and present presidents of MCA, you tell us what can you do to reverse the intransigence, the arrogance and the unreasonableness of Umno today?

MCA's demise is the direct result of none other than Umno's emphasis on race, religion and royalty, leaving no room for other BN component parties.

A dog by any other name is still a dog. MCA must be made to either close shop, become a multiracial party, join the opposition, or die. The Chinese electorate may mete out this death sentence come GE14. Be forewarned.
J Ng: I don't think Chua or MCA is brain dead. Rather, both are dead in the eyes of the Chinese. The party leadership from Ling Liong Sik to the present (Chua included) has never been seen to be fighting for Chinese interests and protection within BN.
MCA knows only how to condemn DAP for highlighting real issues affecting the Chinese. Internal fighting (for self-interest) is a norm for MCA.
Gen Half Track: Chua is trying to pass off as a Chinese version of Mahathir. Mahathir has his son Mukhriz and Chua has Tee Yong - both are taking pot shots at the government and promoting their sons at the same time.
