MCA allowed itself to be bullied
Jaycee's appeal to MCA to quit the Barisan Nasional is at best a wild dream, because members of MCA are too preoccupied with making money for themselves and their families.
This is not to say that Umno members are not the same, but MCA members have carried this self enriching art to new levels, even at the cost of their own community's downfall.
The only reason why these leaders have been "bullied" all these years is that they have so much to lose had they gone against the wishes of Umno. They can shout all they like, they can demand this and that, but at the end of the day, they will still play second fiddle. The new leadership will fare no better.
They had a good prospect in deputy president Lim Ah Lek, himself is rich enough so as not to expect handouts from anyone, but MCA members threw their chance away. He would have voiced members' grievances more forcefully and without fear or favour, but he is not as astute a politician as his opponents, and therefore was forced out of action.
Meanwhile, the new leader is saddled with all kinds of accusations in poison-pen letters, and this is only the beginning! You can rest assure that these letters will only increase in intensity. Other means will also be employed to put him in the same position as his predecessor. The formula seemed to have worked very well with recently-retired MCA President Ling Liong Sik.
So to MCA members, stop shouting at PAS, Keadilan or DAP, because your real nemesis is right there in front of you.
