Anwar asks Khalid and Azmin to stop spat
Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has asked Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali to stop their spat over the sacking of 22 contract staff of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).
Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has asked Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali to stop their spat over the sacking of 22 contract staff of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).
“I have asked for it to stop, Khalid is still the menteri besar,” Anwar was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying after giving a talk titled ‘Asian Renaissance Part 2' at the Merdeka Rakyat Institute yesterday.
Anwar said Azmin should not have reacted badly to the sackings by the state government, since Khalid did not implicate Azmin in his reasonings for the sackings.
Azmin had told Khalid not to use his powers against political rivals with the sackings, after Khalid said that the sackings were done to prevent the staff from being used as a political tool.
“I told Azmin he should not have reacted as such because Khalid did not name him. In media reports, Khalid said he will investigate, he did not name Azmin,” Anwar is quoted as saying.
Anwar said that it was not true that he himself is not doing anything about the spat.
“It is not true that I have not done anything. I have given them stern advice, and I do not need to elaborate,” Sinar Harian quotes Anwar as saying.
