Khalid and Anwar team up to neutralise Azmin?

In politics, nothing is permanent. Now surprisingly PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, prime minister aspirant, is taking a step down to be possibly the head of Selangor state.
In the conflict between Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, one glaring point is that for any leader to hold a top government post, he must have political clout as well.
Otherwise he would be rendered as a lame duck. Khalid has popularity with general public but has no political power at all in his party. There is no way Khalid can perform his duty well if he has no support from his party peers.
From what I read somewhere, the only condition by Khalid set (to step down) is that anyone except his bitter foe, Azmin Ali, is to be the next MB.
I have no sentiment of who should be the next MB so long as the impasse that had dragged down the administration of the state is solved once and for all.
NoBN4me: Lobbying for positions in the new MB's office has already started. A PKR senior leader is already eyeing the post that will be vacated by Faekah Husin, Khalid's political secretary. All the moves are now centred on positions and who should get what.
Senior Citizen: Azmin literally comes from a broken home with his sister going after his jugular all the time. What example can he show to the younger generation? None at all.
This drama appears sickening and disgusting. Khalid did an excellent job as MB. Now some selfish and delinquent PKR chaps are after his neck.
It is utter selfishness with no regard for loyalty or respect for seniors. I am terribly disappointed. But honestly, Anwar should have kept out of this absurd turn of events.
Now I don’t know who to trust. It looks like politics can be equally filthy as a disgruntled family which has no qualms to wash its dirty linen in public.
James1067: Does the public deserve this scenario where personal interest or agenda supersede the people’s rights? The public had rejected senior politicians whom they thought were untouchables. Sadly they were brought back through the back door.
Let the public decide, as they are more politically awake today. Let them send a message to these politicians that it is the public's interest that is important rather than their personal agenda, at this time and at all times.

Disappointing really. Just when you think there is hope for this country in the form of a credible opposition, that hope has just evaporated.
Hang Tuah PJ: I just spoke to some colleagues from Kajang. They say they will vote Anwar out as PAS and DAP still have majority and if Khalid is not retained, the nominee should be from these two parties, not PKR.
Anwar, this is one mistake you are going to regret for the rest of your life. What a pity. All because of the greedy Azmin. He is as dysfunctional as his family.
Hot Khong: PKR is using the rakyat to play their political games. Even though I voted PKR (both federal and state) at GE13, I think this move is making a mockery of the voters who put their trust in Lee Chin Cheh, who simply resigned just to enable Anwar to come into the picture.
We must send a message that this is unacceptable and vote PKR out at this by-election. Enough games, please. We want a serious government who will govern for the benefit of the rakyat.

Fair&Just: Indeed, the opposition is indebted and in need of Anwar to remain the cohesive force for Pakatan Rakyat and their quest for the 14th GE to kick the corrupt BN-Umno out of government.
Abdul Khalid: If I leave, it will be my choice
Appum: Khalid, as many recognised, has done a good job in Selangor. But he did fumble on the Bible and Allah issues. Perhaps it was not to offend the royalty.
But the root cause of this whole fiasco is Azmin and his honchos. No matter how ambitious he (Azmin) can be, he can never be the MB here as the rakyat simply deplores him. That will be the death knell for Pakatan if he ever come to be one.
TokBoy: Neither DSAI (Anwar) nor PKR/Pakatan is perfect, but under current circumstances he's many times better than PM Najib Razak/Umno/BN.
What other better choice do we have? Look at the bigger picture of eradicating corruption, cronyism, nepotism, lavishness, misuse of power, gross mismanagement of the country's wealth, etc.
War Child: As a resident of Selangor and a registered voter, I have full confidence in my menteri besar, Khalid. Your tenure as MB is possible because you enjoy the support of a majority of Selangor state assembly members and the acceptance the Selangor sultan.
You are absolutely right to state that you will resign when the time is right. If you have to go because your leader ordered you to do so then we, your supporters, will be very sad.
Shanghaifish: I think Khalid himself announcing Anwar as the candidate for the by-election indicates Khalid is in favour of this arrangement. Anwar is needed to defuse the onslaught of Azmin and his gang.
It is very difficult for Khalid to rule Selangor peacefully without neutralising Azmin. This wild upstart must be put in his place and the only person who can do it is none other than Anwar.
Public perception in this episode is flawed. Azmin is an Umno dropout and has the ability to cause untold damage to the party, Pakatan and Selangor. Azmin is a wild horse. Khalid knows it and Khalid knows that only Anwar can contain Azmin.
Trust me, Anwar has no ambition to be MB. To sack Azmin will at this point will cause serious damage and it is better to neutralise him.
