One of the Bank Negara's compliance guidelines for local bank is to block the clearance of online credit card transaction occurring on online gaming websites, such as online gambling for football matches.

As I understand that gambling is not healthy but this guideline does not help as it may force people to gamble via the black market. Rather, banks can take pre-caution measure to tackle this matter. The government needs to solve the problem of the many black market bookies who operate around us.

Or the government can, take advantage of tax benefits by providing license to bookies. I am not encouraging gambling but we are solving the situation more rationally rather than always resorting to the 'banning' method.
