PKNS misinterpreted exco decision, says Khalid

Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Abdul Ibrahim today said that the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) had misinterpreted the exco's decision, which resulted in PKR deputy president Azmin Ali's dismissal from the company.
According to the S'gor MB, this resulted in Azmin's dismissal from the firm.

He added that at no point did the exco say Azmin was dropped from the PKNS board of directors, but that certain officials from the firm had interpreted it as such.
"PKNS said he (Azmin) had returned his (company) vehicle, that was the report from PKNS, not us (exco).
"So we noted it down as such (in the exco minutes)... there was no further discussion, the rest we will think about later.
"But PKNS interpreted it differently from us, so all this happened," he told journalists after handing out Mandarin oranges at a market in Bandar Tun Razak this morning.
He was referring to the minutes of an exco meeting on Nov 14 last year which said Azmin's position would be studied though no decision was made.
However, that exco meeting was used as a basis by PKNS general manager Othman Omar to dismiss the Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyperson in a letter dated Jan 8 and signed by him.
'No exco decision on Azmin'
According to the minutes released by the state government, it read: "(Azmin)... had returned his facilities and they have been received, therefore it is suitable to study his position".
Later, PKNS executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek in a statement reiterated that the decision to drop Azmin was made pursuant to the exco meeting decision on Nov 14 and another one on Dec 4.
The minutes of the follow-up exco meeting on Dec 4 said Cempaka state assemblyperson Iskandar Abdul Samad was retained as a PKNS board of director member, while Sungai Pinang state assemblyperson Teng Chang Khim was appointed to replace Teresa Kok.
It made no mention of Azmin's (right) status.
Following the fiasco, both PKNS officials were transferred to the Selangor state secretariat.
At Khalid's pre-Chinese New Year walkabout today, he told journalists that the matter could not be ignored.
"We can't ignore such actions, if tomorrow any contracts or agreements are signed by unauthorised people, disaster will befall PKNS, so we need to take care of this," he stressed.
