Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) general manager Othman Omar has been transferred out of the company following controversy over the removal of PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as a member of the PKNS board of directors.

This was announced by Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today. Also transferred to the same office is PKNS executive secretary Norita Mohd Sidek.
 
Previously, sources close to Azmin had accused Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim of being responsible for the Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyperson's removal from PKNS.
 
However, Khalid - who is also PKNS chief executive officer - had denied this, stating that the decision came from Othman (right).
 
Azmin had ridiculed the explanation while his supporters queried how a general manager had the power to drop a member on the PKNS board of directors.
 
In a press release today, Khalid said an investigation on the circumstances behind Azmin's removal is currently under way, but the latter's removal from the board will remain for now.
 
Earlier, Khalid had sat through a four-hour meeting with PKNS officials before holding the press conference.
 
Khalid added that until the investigation is done, the decision to drop Azmin will remain.
 
"The position of the affected PKNS board of director members remain as instructed by the PKNS general manager on Jan 8 to avoid any legal complications," he said.
 
Meanwhile, Azmin in a Twitter posting dismissed reports by some media outlets that he had been reinstated into the PKNS board of directors.
 
"PKNS board, don't speculate, I'm still out," he said.
