YOURSAY ‘They're all using the same playbook and playing their respective parts.’

AGC looks down on Chinese leaders, says Ling

Ferdtan: Former MCA chief Ling Liong Sik, do you know that in the Umno government any branch Umno leader, a small fry in the party, equates or possibly higher in status than any MCA leader, even a past president like you.

You can even brandish your honorific title ‘Tun’ around but it’s to no avail. That is as much we know basing from previous experiences. In the recent case, an ordinary Umno Youth member dared to punch a deputy education minister, P Kamalanathan, who is of course from a minor partner in BN.

In reverse, Umno leaders including their family members can throw their weight around and no actions will be taken by the authorities.

Remember the misbehaviour of ministers Mohamed Nazri Aziz and his son, as well as Ahmad Zahid Hamidi?

Even in the long past in 2000, the late Zakaria Deros of Klang Istana fame, an assemblyman and Klang Umno division chief, slapped the opposition leader Teng Chang Kim in one incident at the state assembly building.

James_3392: Ling, you shame yourself and your family enough, don't drag the Chinese community into water with you. The Chinese community also looks down on you and your party MCA, not only the AGC (Attorney-General’s Chambers).

Geronimo: Wow, what a revelation. This MCA leader just found out that he no longer has confidence in the country's judicial system when we have lost ours a long time ago. Well, better late than never, I guess.

Lim Chong Leong: Yes, we too have lost confidence in the judicial system, but for the opposite reasons - they have failed to convict you and your co-conspirators for treason and corruption.

MinahBulat: Ling, do you agree the PKFZ (Port Klang Free Zone) after the AG decided to drop the case against former transport minister Chan Kong Choy, that this is a case where a crime has been committed without a perpetrator?

If you agree, can't you see that there must be a case against someone high up. They needed a fall guy so the AG had to do something.

Your case is a foregone conclusion in that you will not be convicted, and we Malaysians are not blind.

James1067: Sir, you and the AGC can stop all these charades. The thought that you do not read what you sign go against any rational thinking.

The public has already drawn their conclusion. They had already shown their frustration in 2013, and in 2018 they will show more if justice is not served against the perpetrators.

Onyourtoes: What are you saying - the AGC looked down on Chinese leaders? That is all, nothing else?

Ask any Chinese Malaysian, I don’t think anyone of us needs an ordeal like yours to know the fact of life in Malaysia. Why talk crap now?

It is people like you and all other MCA leaders, both past and present, who have inculcated and nurtured Umno into a domineering party with its false sense of entitlement.

It was Umno that has emboldened the civil service and all apparatuses of government into a racist monster bent at bullying and belittling others. It is so colossal that even Pakatan Rakyat, if ever they come into power, would be able to dismantle.

You suffered a few years of court hearing, but what about TBH (Teoh Beng Hock), a young Chinese Malaysian political aide? Have you had any thought for him that he too could have paid the ultimate price due to a Malay-centric civil service looking down on Chinese?

Dood: I’m not surprised to hear this kind of racial statement from an MCA leader. Like their masters and big brother Umno-BN, they're all experts at stirring up racial sentiment.

They're all using the same playbook and playing their respective parts in the divide-and-conquer game.

Intheair: Ling is history and he will be remembered as the one who morphed the remnant of political influence of MCA as provision of social services to salvage a subsistence survival with no real influence on the direction of this nation.

Perhaps, he discovered late that it was an existence that did not command respect. The question “What kind of country is this?” is saying a lot from a figure who sat next to the pinnacle of power for almost 20 years.

Swipenter: After decades of official discrimination by the Umno Baru government, the AGC and other branches of the civil service have this superiority complex aka Ketuanan Melayu complex that all non-Malays are just a nuisance they have to put up with if not for their generosity and kindness, the latter would be kicked back to their forefathers' country of origin.

Not all are infected by this superiority complex. Many of them are actually very kind and generous people. And not all Chinese are angels either.

The use of any race card by any quarter is wrong. Just like the present kangkung case, some quarters link it to an attack on Malay's dignity whilst the actual issue is linked to inflation. The race card is a convenient way to cover one's shortcoming.
