Wanita MCA is urging that legal action be taken against an Umno Youth leader who had allegedly punched Deputy Education Minister II P Kamalanathan, snubbing suggestions that the matter can be resolved internally within BN.

Wanita MCA is urging that legal action be taken against an Umno Youth leader who had allegedly punched Deputy Education Minister II P Kamalanathan (below), snubbing suggestions that the matter can be resolved internally within BN.
“What is the use of police, law and order if everyone could resolve criminal cases via an internal conduit?
“Such a proposal is contempt against the judicial system and unfair to the victim who, in this case in particular, is a deputy minister,” said MCA Women’s wing chief Heng Seai Kie in a statement today.
She was responding to Hulu Selangor Umno chief Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan, who was quoted on the BN Backbenchers Council’s official website as saying that the matter can be resolved through internal party channels.
He had urged Kamalanathan to withdraw his police report, according to the article dated Jan 13.
Kamalanathan, who is also the Hulu Selangor MP, had alleged that he was punched in his office by Hulu Selangor Umno Youth assistant secretary Muhammad Rizuan Suhaimi on Jan 12.
Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor had said that the party will issue a show-cause letter to Rizuan.
