Kuala Lumpur police have submitted investigation papers to the Attorney-General's Chambers on the illegal assembly held in the city on Dec 31.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said the matter was being scrutinised by the Attorney-General's Chambers before further action could be taken.

"The police will wait for the decision of the Attorney-General's Chambers whether to charge or otherwise," he told reporters after opening a dialogue session with primary school headmasters at the Cheras PDRM College in Kuala Lumpur today.

On Dec 31, an illegal gathering was organised by certain non-governmental organisations to disrupt the New Year Eve Concert organised by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall at Dataran Merdeka.

The concert had to be cancelled 30 minutes before midnight after protestors rushed on to the stage set up for the midnight countdown.
