A landslide just after midnight at Km61 of Jalan Tamparuli-Kiulu has forced the closure of a 50-metre stretch of the road to all vehicles and restricted the movement of people in 45 villages.

Tuaran OCPD DSP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malik said the landslide occurred at 12.05am but no one was reported injured.

He told Bernama it would take some time to reopen that stretch of road and said motorists could use the alternative Jalan Lawamandou-Telipok.

However, he advised caution as this road was unpaved and more suitable only for four-wheel-drive vehicles.
