Greetings YB Anwar Ibrahim,

I sincerely thank you for being the voice of change in this country, you have given Malaysians a chance to voice their grievances through street protests and the ballot boxes as observed through the 2008 and 2009 general elections and Bersih rallies.

YB, since you are the de facto leader of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, and if given a chance could have been the prime minister of Malaysia, I would require some rather straight forward answer from you.

Firstly, why hasn’t Pakatan Rakyat defended the rights of minorities in Malaysia? Let me elaborate on this issue. You and members of your coalition have used the ‘Allah’ issue to gain votes during the 2013 GE, promising a better government. Yet on Jan 4 none of your representatives were present at the Our Lady of Lourdes church, except for one DAP MP and two DAP assemblypersons.

Let’s look at the bigger picture, in Selangor we have 17 opposition MPs and 44 assemblypersons from the Pakatan Rakyat coalition which have just received a pay hike by 300 percent, yet none of them came to defend the rights of minorities in Malaysia. Please note I have left out N Surendran, Rafizi Ramli and Nurul Izzah from this equation though two of them are from the Federal Territory which happens to be not very far from Our Lady of Lourdes.

Secondly, YB Anwar Ibrahim, Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (Jais) falls right under the jurisprudence of the Pakatan-led government. We all know that such a raid could not be done without state approval. Why refer to the federal government when this was a state matter. I can’t help but believe that the “higher hands” you were referring could be to gain support for the looming PKR elections to be held in April.

What I can confirm today is YB, your silence on this matter has led many right-minded Christians to lose trust in you. I hope you can respond to us collectively, cause it really has caused a lot of hurt among us Malaysians.
