The struggles of Perkasa are in line with the 1Malaysia concept and the spirit of the federal constitution, noted Perkasa secretary-general Syed Hassan Syed Ali.     

Therefore, the financial assistance provided by the government for the organisation does not go against the spirit of 1Malaysia.
    
Syed Hassan said this to rebuke opposition party DAP's claim that the assistance provided by the government had “succeeded” in weakening the 1Malaysia concept promoted by the BN-led government.      
    
Perkasa has no qualms if the government bows down to DAP's demand to stop financing its programmes and activities.
    
"Perkasa will still move ahead with its little resources. Financial limitations will not stop Perkasa from vocally defending the interest of the Malays, bumiputera and Muslims," he told Bernama.
    
Syed Hassan also took to task the DAP leadership, saying they were the cause for the current state of confusion in the country.
    
"Had they not touched on the rights of Malays and bumiputera, and had they not supported groups that advocated liberalism... Perkasa would not have existed."
    
Syed Hassan noted that Perkasa is fully aware there were parties that would never be satisfied until Perkasa is deregistered by the Registrar of Societies as they feared that Perkasa is the stumbling block in achieving their goals.
