Then what about thousands of Christian bumiputera from Sabah and Sarawak who are now working in Peninsular Malaysia, especially in states like Selangor, Johor and Penang?
Can you deny them of the language that they are conversant with? The raid against the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) is not an issue pertaining to legal procedures, search warrant, and the presence of police.
It is a jurisdiction and constitutional issue. The enactment must respect freedom of religion as well as safeguard against propagation of other religions to Muslims because both are provided in the constitution. You can’t uphold one and negate the other.
Jiminy Qrikert: The East Malaysians who are the true natives of this land speak Bahasa Malaysia, worship in Bahasa Malaysia and are much more comfortable expressing themselves in Bahasa Malaysia. The majority of them happen to be Christians and they use the Malay-language Bible.
And a significant number of them have come over to Peninsular Malaysia, especially Selangor, to earn a living.
Also, there are many Christian Indonesians here, especially in Selangor, working as maids. So, Musa, that's why there are Malay bibles in Selangor.

In fact, come to think of it, since his contention is that the Bible is only for Christians and therefore there is no need for a Malay-language Bible, we now have a case to insist to the Education Ministry to revert to the English language as the medium of instruction for all subjects, except Bahasa Malaysia, of course.
In that way, even our East Malaysian brothers who speak in Bahasa Malaysia, will learn English and read the English-language Bible.
With this solution in hand, we can kill a few birds with one stone.
Firstly, overhaul the crappy education system being dispensed in Bahasa Malaysia. In about 12 years, we will see the fruit of our action in the form of well-spoken graduates from our universities.
Secondly, no need to use the 'A' word in about 12 years as well, since all of us will be conversant in English. Thirdly, no more confusing anyone. Lastly, happiness and peace in Malaysia.

He has no evidence and yet wants to accuse Christians of preaching to Malays. If you are so afraid, why not just make the Malay language exclusive to Malay Muslims.

To enter a private premise, you need a warrant. Are you, Musa, then saying that you can enter any premise, my house included, over some "complaint" which you need not show, to search and seize?
What is wrong, if you are acting properly, in getting a warrant? I am sure the relevant authorities will give you a warrant as you seem to have all the justifications.
What Jais did was wrong, and they should be punished. What the police did by accompany them was also wrong and they should also be punished.
Let there be no repeat of such raid. Malaysia has a constitution that guarantees freedom to practise your religion.

You (Selangor Islamic Religious Department, or Jais) used force, lawful or not, to do what you want and get what you want. Any other day, this would be called a raid. You want Bahasa Malaysia to be the national language, and yet you question the usage of the language.
Furthermore, your narrow-minded perspective obviously shows just because you think the holy books are in BM, therefore it is to propagate Christianity.
The books are not openly sold in public. In some malls, you can see stalls showing videos and selling books and other miscellaneous items on Islam. Are they trying to propagate the religion?
East Malaysians use BM in their church services so they use a BM Bible if no other alternatives are available. And there are East Malaysians who come to West Malaysia. So unless you are ostracising East Malaysia, stop being ignorant.
Proarte: BSM distributes the Bible throughout Malaysia so it is logical that they should have Malay and Iban Bible.
It is my contention that the powers-that-be want to deliberately dumb down the Malays and also to let the world know that Malays are a very weak-minded and feeble people who need 'protection'.
