Dumbo: This statement by the Selangor government to follow the Selangor sultan's decree on 'Allah' is a betrayal of the non-Muslims who voted you into power. A constitutional monarch's power is subordinate to the federal constitution. Can the Pakatan government state the powers of a constitutional monarch in accordance with the law, which is the federal constitution?
 
M.A: I am truly embarrassed to be a Selangorian today. The very people we voted to look into the welfare of all Selangorians seem to pussy-foot their way. Like what former Bersih chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan has said, "Selangor's response to this whole issue is indeed pathetic."
 
Onyourtoes: It is not about SOP, damn you. It is about whether Jais has the authority to raid BSM or not. What exactly is the position of the state government now? We don’t elect you to be a pussycat you know. How do you interpret the Appeal Court judgement? Obiter dictum is different from ratio decidendi, you know.
 
Open Minded: Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim is a traitor and so is the whole administrative lot of this state. Whether it is Umno or Pakatan, it does not make any difference but just a change of stripes.
 
So it is a matter of out of the frying pan, into the fire. They just play the game and take us for a ride. Why ask Prime Minister Najib Razak to comment, where is your leader Anwar Ibrahim who promised so much to all of us but suddenly has no sound? A same bunch to feather their own nests.
 
I am now confused as to whether only the Muslims provide payments to the sultan's expenses or does it also include monies from non-Muslims? As far as I know, the quit rent we pay should go to the sultan apart from other payments (which I am unaware of). If so then his interests and concerns should be for all his 'subjects'. When you just alienate one sector, then there is a tendency shown to be biased.
 
SMC77: I wonder whether Jais is funded by the Selangor government. If that is the case, I urge Khalid to cut the funding to Jais and tell them who is the boss. Jais may report to the Sultan but they should know who is paying their bill.

Doremon: I pity the MB and the exco for Islamic affairs - on the one hand he wants to help and be truthful and fair, but on the other there is the Selangor sultan's decree. Maybe the sultan should be the mediator on this issue and be fair to both Christians and Muslims alike.
 
We non-Muslims are also your subjects and need to be protected by people in Jais - how sure  are we that Jais will not repeat the matter with other faiths? A wrong is a wrong and we must be fair: where was the warrant to raid, why must they be so rude in carrying it out? We have to ask.
 
James1067: The best way to go is to abide by the sultan's decision and not let the enemies further their agenda. Let us put our ego aside and find a way around to come to a amicable solution. A solution that will work out for the better of all parties and a permanent one where this situation must not arise.

Let the MB and his officers find a way, not through confrontation but using their wisdom.
 
BTN: We have irresponsible people who take other people for a fool by giving lame excuse that they forgot to inform the state government of their evil intention.

Their intention and action was not to enforce any Allah matter, but was deliberately done to humiliate the Christians in this country just to show they are superior and have the power to do as they wish.
 
I would strongly advise these morons to stop their dangerous actions and live their lives responsibly.
 
Ksn: Respect is mutual in all matters, especially in religion and according to the laws. Has Jais the legal authority to raid a Christian place, and confiscate the bibles? That is what the Selangor government. has to decide in this case, and as we told the raid was done without the clearance from the Selangor government.
 
Yes, we all know that Islam is the official religion but that does not diminish or reduce the religious freedom of religious practitioners. Islam if felt to be a superior faith for certain people, is a matter of opinion. Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs can also all feel the same way, superior to other religions.
 
And the Muslims in Malaysia must ask what good the religious police have done so far in spite of their enforcement about khalwat, rape, sex outside marriage etc. etc. Religion is an individual right and people must be allowed to practise it without force, compulsion the way they wish.

Basically: It's sad that we still don't have Malay leaders who can lead ALL Malaysians. Once it comes to a Malay/Muslim issue we can be sure the non-Muslims will be left leaderless, because Umno's racial politics is so deeply ingrained in this country.
 
I have yet to see a Pakatan Muslim leader who has the guts to do the right thing by all Malaysians regardless of race/religion. Each time Umno plays the race or religion card, each and every one of the opposition leaders will play along.
 
Parti Keadilan Rakyat? Where's the rakyat in that?

It was you and Gerakan who started all these when both of you started supporting the various religious bills tabled when Selangor was under the BN. If you want to help, quit the BN to show you mean business. If not, STAY OUT!
 
Kuasa Rakyat: Muslims follow this, Christians follow that ... Actually the easiest and correct way is that all Malaysians follow the federal constitution which is the supreme law of the country for all.
