Guan Eng rapped for backing 'anti-MCA' restaurant

At a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today, Gan said Lim's behaviour was unbecoming of a Penang chief minister.
"We have one remarkable chief minister of Penang who openly said it was done in the name of freedom of expression, but in actual fact it is creating political divide.
"I expected him to do better than that as the chief minister of Penang," said Gan, who held a press conference after submitting in his nomination form as a candidate for the MCA presidential election.
He said that Malaysians should cultivate a healthy environment for rational politics instead of hatred and divisions.
"If anymore stores put up sign that goes against any political party, I will tell them off," said Gan.
Gan was commenting on Lim's visit to Red Yeast restaurant in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur yesterday. During the visit, Lim had supported restaurant owner Ngiam Chee Jieh's move to put up a notice barring uniformed MCA members.
Ngiam said that he put up the notice as a sign of protest against MCA secretary-general Kong Cho Ha's statement urging the Chinese community to stop their so-called confrontational attitude.
A portion of the notice read: "The Chinese do not confront, but want to live a happy life".
Lim visited the restaurant for lunch after officialy opening the Selangor DAP congress in Shah Alam. He told reporters at the scene that Ngiam's action was part and parcel of democracy.
