The opposition has failed to appoint a leader in the state assembly to replace Duyong state assemblyperson Goh Leong San who resigned on Oct 8.

Speaker Datuk Othman Muhamad told the state assembly in Malacca today that he has not received the state assemblyperson’s name to fill the vacancy in the opposition ranks.

“I had written to the Pakatan Rakyat headquarters more than a month but there is still no replacement,” he said.

Othman was replying to a question from Ghazale Mohamad (BN-Rim) who urged the state assembly to announce the name of the opposition leader in Malacca.

He said it aims to facilitate state assemblyperson from the Barisan Nasional (BN) when dealing with the opposition.
