Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim who is in charge of parliamentary affairs, says he is prepared to back a motion to debate hudud law in Parliament.
However, Shahidan said whether the motion will go through or not would very much depend on PAS' partners in Pakatan Rakyat, according to a Sinar Harian report today.
"We are ready to hear out the motion but the decision depends on the support of all MPs.
"Because if it is brought to Parliament, their (PAS) voice is a minority one and we do not know whether other Pakatan Rakyat partners will give their support," he said.
Yesterday, another BN MP Annuar Musa, who (right) represents Ketereh in Kelantan, had backed PAS for the implementation of hudud in the state.
However, PAS is insistent that it cannot do so unless the federal government gives its endorsement and amend certain federal laws in Parliament.
