Former DAP national vice-president Zulkifli Mohd Noor is continuing to hit out at party leadership over the central executive committee (CEC) polls held in September, reserving his most scathing attack for party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

NONEZulkifli, who resigned from his post on Oct 25, claimed many of the problems facing the party can be traced back to the Lim’s "weaknesses and inability" to manage them.

He said Lim (left) had a "capitalist heart with deviant desires to ensure he achieves his aims even to the extend of putting aside the law and the party's constitution".

The party's run in with Registrar of Societies (ROS), he further claimed, is due to Lim's "arrogant, proud and stubborn" attitude, and whose “abuse of power” reached its peak when Pakatan Rakyat, led by DAP, took over the helm of the Penang government.

In regards to the status of the CEC, Zulkifli said that all appointments in the party and Penang government would be considered "unqualified" if a member had joined the party for less than two years, unless he or she obtains approval from the CEC, which has yet to be approved by the ROS.

Zulkifli, a former Penang councillor, said he was making the statement as a member of the previous CEC structure for 12 years, and who was also involved in drafting and amending the party's policies.

'ROS must verify CEC first'

He further warned that the DAP's state elections this year would be invalid.

"The state convention for all states, if it takes place, goes against phase XV of the party's constitution which states that the date if the event must be fixed by the CEC.

"The ROS has yet to approve the CEC and the re-election on Sept 29, where the party has yet to submit its report.

"I remind DAP leaders that the pulse and heartbeat of the party has automatically come to a halt until ROS verifies the polls," he stressed.

dap special congress 290913 cec winnersLast month, the vocal Zulkifli resigned as Bayan Baru DAP liason committee chief, Penang DAP committee member and Penang Global Tourism director, citing problems with the party's leadership over the CEC fresh polls.

DAP was forced to hold fresh polls by the ROS after admitting to a technical glitch when announcing the results of its December election last year.

In the re-election, delegates voted in the same CEC line-up, albeit with Lim's votes dropping to fourth place.

Following the new polls, in which he had failed to secure any position, Zulkifli had accused party leadership of tricking delegates to support the status quo CEC lineup.

Lim had later dismissed the criticism, stating that Zulkifli's  remarks were "not worth" commenting on as the party cannot be destroyed over one person's views.
