SG LIMAU PAS has strongly denied suggestions that the party was behind the mannequin with missing legs in the Sungai Limau constituency.

"We do not know how to play reverse psychology. This tactic is being use by very experienced people," said PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar, at a press conference in the party's main operations centre in Padang Lumat today.

Mahfuz said such tactics were "uncivilised and rude", as it was design to bring ill-repute to former Sungai Limau assemblyperson Azizan Abdul Razak.

"We certainly do not support these kind of politics," added the Pokok Sena MP.

Azizan, also the former Kedah Menteri Besar, died on Sept 26, paving the way for a by-election which will be held tomorrow.

BN's Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim, 52, is facing PAS Mohd Azam Samat, 37, in a straight fight.

Recently, mannequins with missing legs were seen in at least two towns within the rural constituency. The mannequins are believed to be an attempt to mock Azizan, who had both legs amputated due an infection in May.

Family still grieving

Asked if PAS would lodge police reports on the matter, Mahfuz replied: "We are tired of lodging police reports".

He urged all parties to show empathy for Azizan's family members who are still grieving.

"One of his children has also just met with an accident in Kuala Lumpur, I urge everyone to please give the family some space to grieve," he added.

BN has also vehemently denied putting up those mannequins, with Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin saying that coalition was not "stupid" to carry out such acts.

"This would surely provoke the sentiments of hatred of the people towards BN," he said when met by reporters today.

"I do not know who did it but it would surely make people angry towards BN," he added.

Similarly, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom held an urgent press conference yesterday to deny the act and claim that it was part of an anti-BN conspiracy.
