Gerakan acting secretary-general Mah Siew Keong is pitted against the party's Penang chief Teng Chang Yeow in a straight fight for the president post, at the party elections next Saturday.

The post is vacant following acting president Chang Ko Youn, who led the party since last May, declining to defend his post to pave the way for younger leaders to helm the party.
Mah (left) is 52 years old, while Teng (below) is 49.
The contest for the deputy president post will also be a straight fight between Gerakan Kepong division chairperson Ma Woei Chyi and Kedah state chairperson Dr Cheah Soon Hai.
When the nomination process at Menara PGRM, here, closed at noon today, six candidates were confirmed to run for the three vice-president posts. They are Asharuddin Ahmad, Gordon Leong Vui Cheung, Syed Abdul Razak Syed Long Alsagoff, A Kohilan Pillay, Teo Eng Tee and Loo Yeng Peng.
Kohilan is the only incumbent for the post.
Meanwhile, 39 candidates will vie for the 18 central committee positions.
A total of 2,298 national delegates are eligible to vote in this year's party elections.
