My children, nieces and nephews all go Chinese schools. Except for my children who speak English at home, the command of English among my nieces and nephews is bad to say the least. They are struggling now as they pursue their higher education in English.

Opposing the greater use of English in Chinese primary schools by the educationists would be detrimental to the future prospects of the Chinese students. They should give the new system a try. What harm could it do? I do not agree that the move would cause the death of Chinese schools.

I chose to put my children in a Chinese school because of its discipline and culture that generate a love for education. Learning pure/advanced Chinese is not the desire of the average student. Those who would like to continue to study advanced Chinese may do so in secondary schools or at universities.
