Bukit Aman CID chief Hadi Ho Abdullah has rebutted MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan's claim that police are not investigating his shooting case.
Hadi maintained that the police started investigating the drive-by shooting - which seriously injured Sanjeevan - from the very beginning, after the police report was lodged, and that the case has been classified as attempted murder.
"So the fact he said that we are not investigating is a blatant lie," Hadi (left) told a press conference today.
He was responding to Sanjeevan’s complaint that the police were more interested in investigating his tweets alleging police involvement in the shooting, than in finding his assailants.
However, Hadi said that police have yet to take Sanjeevan's statement on the incident.
Thus, Hadi said, "How I wish I could show his statement to you all."
"Can you get his permission that we show his statement to you, then you’ll see whether his statement has been recorded?" he quizzed.
Regarding the police report against Sanjeevan, Hadi said that the police had received four police reports and will submit the necessary documents to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for further action once the investigations are done.
