Supplementary Supply Bill 2013 passed in Dewan Negara

The Supplementary Supply Bill 2013 which provided an additional allocation of RM15.014 billion to various ministries and government departments, was passed in Dewan Negara after debate since yesterday.

Among the Ministries and Departments that received additional allocations were the Parliament, Prime Minister's Department, Finance Ministry, Works Ministry, Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Youth and Sports Ministry, Ministry of Human Resources, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs.
Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan when winding up debate said the increase in price of oil in the global market was a factor for the need for additional budget.
