DAPs youth wing is unisex
I noted that the writer had quoted wrong facts when she wrote "Other than PRM, no other political party in the country has a unisex Youth wing. Most young women who want to join politics can only find representation in the women's wing of the political parties of their interest".
I wish to stress here that the Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (Dapsy), which is the Youth wing of the DAP, has membership comprising both sexes. In fact, member of Parliament for Seputeh Teresa Kok is our current national vice chairperson and MP for Batu Gajah Fong Po Kuan also sits in our national executive council.
As a fraternal member of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), Dapsy fully respects gender equality. Therefore, it was wrong to state in your report that no other political organisation other than PRM has a unisex Youth wing.
Editor's note: We regret the error and have made the necessary changes.
