Police are now hunting for the suspect who hired a hitman to kill Arab-Malaysian (Ambank) founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi.

City CID chief Ku Chin Wah urged the 53-year-old man to turn himself in.

“So far no new arrests have been made. The suspect is believed to have left for Australia after the murder and we believe he is still abroad.

“The individual knows police are looking for him and we are giving him time to come forward failing which we will circulate a photograph of him,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

The suspected hitman was arrested on Sunday along with two accomplices at 12.30am in a raid at a house in Taiping, Perak and now has been remanded to facilitate investigations.

Najadi, 75, was killed while his wife was seriously injured after being shot by a lone gunman at a parking lot nearby the Kuan Yin Temple in Lorong Ceylon in Kuala Lumpur on July 29.
