Lim's ranking dip really 'swallowing a dead cat'
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng should be criticised for citing the Chinese proverb of “swallowing a dead cat” in reference to having to admit to things he claims DAP did not do. By scoring a lower vote count by 277 ballots at the party’s re-elections on Sept 29, 2013 whereby he fell from the 2nd spot to the 5th position, this is Guan Eng really “swallowing a dead cat” as this is an indication that there is resentment within DAP building against him.
DAP always plays up the “victim” role to shroud the blunder within DAP merely to win sympathy from the Chinese community.
He said DAP had to conduct a re-election out of fear of party deregistration as “although we didn’t do anything wrong, we were going to “swallow the dead cat”.
It is obvious there was a major blunder during the 2012 DAP party polls. Otherwise, why would DAP cave in to the Registrar of Societies’ (ROS) instructions to conduct re-elections? Why not raise their disagreement with ROS at court?
Apart from DAP’s major errors leading to the re-election, in order to cover up their mistakes and incite and deceive the Chinese community, DAP sought to divert attention by pinning blame on Barisan Nasional as conspiring with ROS.
In reality, Guan Eng appears to “swallow the dead cat”. When DAP faces disagreement with its Pakatan allies and cannot reach a consensus, especially regarding the establishment of a theocratic state, implementation of PAS religious enactments, DAP consistently resorts to gag orders, thereby abandoning the interests of the non-Muslim community. Indeed, this is an example of a living “swallowing a dead cat”.
I urge the non-Muslim community to see the true face of DAP and the Lim family’s version of leadership where they are unable to distinguish right from wrong, practising diversion of attention by any political means to blame political opponents and deceive the rakyat.
