All political party members in the midst of their party elections have been urged by Governance and Integrity Minister Paul Low to shun any offer of cash inducements to affect the outcome of the elections.

NONELow also urged anybody who is aware of such "corruption practices" to report them to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, and for the political parties themselves to cooperate with the MACC on the same.

"By doing so, we will be sending out a strong message that money politics has no place in Malaysia's future."

He said that money politics "undermines the very core of democracy" at the cost of the rakyat.

Leaders elected without the help of money politics will also enjoy greater public trust and cooperation, Low added.

Umno polls are in October followed by PAS in November.
