Regarding Malaysian Student Department director Dr Kamarudin M Nor's response to my letter, all I want to say is that I will leave it to the students in the two countries to assess whether my letter had created "unnecessary fear and anxiety" in them.

I believe that they are mature and intelligent enough to form their own opinion about the MSD and its chest-thumping Umno loyalist.

Incidentally, it is heart-warming to learn that Kamarudin is supportive of organisations that are truly Malaysian, not ethnic-based. Does this necessarily mean that the UK-based Umno Clubs patronised by certain ethnic Malay students have just been declared persona non grata? And is he having second thoughts about being a deeply devoted member of ethnic Malay-based Umno?
