May I refer to LCH's letter Facts, not fiction to prove all treated fairly.

The writer is right to demand proof but the PAS government in Terengganu is also not short of proof, as long as LCH is prepared and willing to go to visit Terengganu to see with his own eyes and hear with his own ears. Relying on the Umno and MCA-controlled newspapers to judge PAS and the opposition is the most unscientific and irrational thing to do.

In Terengganu, quit rent and highway toll have been abolished by the PAS state government for bumiputera and non-bumiputera alike, so that people's rights to basic housing and easy movement are recognised. Less wealthy people, both Muslims and non-Muslims, are not burdened by high quit rent and highway toll.

All schools, whether national, Chinese, Tamil or Arabic are financially assisted by the state government based on need and without racial or religious discrimination.

Female government employees are given 90 days' maternity leave by the PAS government to recognise women and their rights, responsibility and honour as mothers. It is a more than the Umno government's 60 days.

In Terengganu, people work only five days a week, like in the United States and Europe, because the PAS government thinks that working human beings are not machines. They need proper rest and time to take care of themselves and families.

PAS government in Trengganu is more humanist than the Umno Federal government which is driven by nothing but only capitalist logic, which treats working people as pure machines and profit-producing input.

PAS treats working people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, as human beings, fathers and mothers. Human beings are more than machines and electoral campaigners.

However, Trengganu is still not perfect. The previous Umno government wasted tremendous public resources. Inheriting the government as well as the public debt incurred by Umno, PAS has to struggle hard to raise the standard of living of the people.

There are also natural factors such as geography and history that have contributed to Terengganu's relative under-development as compared to the west coast. LCH is welcome to visit Trengganu to see for himself what is happening here, and to make suggestions and even criticism based on facts and realities, not fictions concocted by the official media.

I am sure intelligent people like LCH can contribute positively to the improvement and betterment of the conditions of the poor and downtrodden in Terengganu by making suggestions and criticism after visiting the state and gathering enough facts.

The PAS government is ever willing and ready to listen to all sincere and honest Malaysians who have the interests of the poor and downtrodden people, Muslims and non-Muslims, in their hearts and minds.
