PAS, Umno fighting over power, not Islam

DAP should know that the real fight between PAS and Umno is not about Islam but over the power to rule Malaysia. Even if all Chinese Malaysians were Muslims, they would still be treated as a secondary group because of political ideology.
The events in 1988 which split Umno into two factions are very telling of the racism that exists in this country. Some Malays in Umno resorted to ethnic name-calling. Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was referred to as mamak though he is a fellow Muslim. This would lead one to believe that even if all Malaysians were Muslims, it would not mean that we could share the wealth of the country equally.
DAP should work hard on Penang in the next general election like the PAP did in Singapore during their election campaign. PAP won because most of their candidates were lawyers, doctors and professionals.
