It is the duty of all law-abiding and civilised Malaysians to support the Americans drive to destroy without mercy the Taliban terror, al-Qaeda menace and Iraqi attempts to develop weapons of mass destruction. The Taliban ushered in a period darkness and misery for the people of Afghanistan and were the destroyers of world heritage Buddhist sites in the name of religion.

Al-Qaeda had the temerity to challenge the civilised world. And of course, Iraq has the infamy of invading two neighbouring countries and killing its own people with chemical and biological weapons and now attempting to obtain weapons of mass destruction in contravention of UN. Its leader cannot be trusted.

The Americans, champions of the free world stand alone against these dark forces. These dark forces and its supporters use religion and division of arguments (function of free world but not of un-elected governments) and misinformation to divide the free world. We must stand resolute with the Americans. If we don't destroy them, these dark forces will slowly and surely engulf the Middle East and other regions and destroy us.

Look at how Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is struggling to control the green tide and Muslim fanatics here. Whether we want Malaysia to be multi-cultural, free and a just society or driven by religious intolerance and racial hatred is in our hands.

The Americans have been friends of Malaysia since independence and we depend on them for our economic survival. It is not the time for faint-hearted and half-measured responses. We can't afford to sit on the fence. We are either with the Americans or with the dark and evil forces.

The choice is ours and our future depends on it.
