Wong: No full-blown water crisis from diesel spill

your sayFerdtan: YB Elizabeth Wong, who visited the affected water intake areas and monitored water testing until the wee hours of morning, a big thank you for a good job done to keep the people updated.

The water at 1.30pm in Klang is running. Last night all bottled drinking water in major supermarkets was sold out to panicked customers.

A good lesson to all that clean environment and unpolluted rivers are essential for human's survival. Regular checks must be made on all rivers that are the source of raw water (the intake points).

We must make sure no companies that could potentially posed danger, to pollute the rivers, are not situated too close to the rivers.

Hibiscus: A big thank you to Wong for managing the crises so professionally and so excellently. We appreciate you tell it like it is.

I just wonder what would have happened if Selangor were under the BN in such a crises. It is likely the BN's handling of the matter would have cost billions and resulting in water rationing for months as well as imposing of the intimidating Official Secrets Act to prevent the public from knowing the truth.

Aishah: YB Wong, please act on the errant company without fear or favour. And quickly take over Syabas.

Water resources must be put under the control of the state, not a private company that is purely profit-motivated. Water disruption that causes hardship to the masses is a BN's strategy to wrest control of the state in GE14.

Continue-The-March: This incident exposed a huge difference between a competent Selangor state which responded quickly to the situation vis-a-vis a corrupted overpaid outfit like Syabas always looking for opportunity to milk the public and creating all these nonsense and panic.

CiViC: Food for thought. If a small-scale diesel spill could cause so much trouble and the respective parties be it BN or Pakatan Rakyat, public or private sector, could not even resolve this efficiently, just imagine what would happen if similar "accident" takes place at Lynas even if it's just at 1% scale to this one. It's probably another Chernobyl in the making.

Optimist: YB, I am impressed. Well done. There is still hope for all of us when we have people like you in position who can make the difference.

I shudder at the thought of BN running Selangor and the lackadaisical response that would have been present. Keep up the good work.

Thana55: We need a formal press briefing by Syabas on what happened, why it had happened, who was responsible and what actions are being taken to prevent recurrence.

That's being professional and world class.

N Ng: Syabas should be accountable for a mismanagement of water assets. Theses assets should not be so easily are exposed to such risks.

Watchtower: Great job, Pakatan government. Quick, efficient and decisive. And here we have a minor mistake of a headmaster at the school in Sungai Buloh, with a little humility the whole case would have been closed and everyone move on.

Instead, it has blown up to a mega headache, and the MOE (Ministry of Education) is still investigating. Just reign in the HM, apologise and move on. Is that too hard and too much to expect?

Simply Best: If it was just a garbage truck and not a diesel tanker then the official who reported thus and created public anxiety should be fired. Or is Syabas using every opportunity to undermine water negotiation?

Mahan: SS14 Subang Jaya, we still do not have water. Who do we believe? Elizabeth Wong or Syabas, which still insists normality will return after a week.

Syabas should do the honourable thing to surrender the contract back to the people of Selangor and let the water resources be managed by the state government.

Sinner: Great job by the Pakatan government. An Umno government would have told us to emigrate if we do not like the water supply interruption.
