The time has come for all dear Malaysians to realise that Barisan Nasional's existing policies are getting outdated. We no longer need Umno who claims to champion for the Malay Malaysians; MCA, the Chinese Malaysians nor MIC, the Indian Malaysians.

More so we do not need to subject ourselves to the awful humility of a deputy minister like M Kayveas (People's Progressive Party president) shamelessly curry-favouring BN president and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

What we Malaysians need is a 'Just Malaysia' for Malaysians. Regardless of what we believe, or whichever race we come from and what we eat, the bowls are the same.

We have seen the decline of our education standard in the last three decades when BN's mindless education policies de-constructed the once quality schools, and churned out a generation of mediocre teachers and students.

The switch to Malay as the medium of instruction for all national schools was also a short-sighted policy that has now deprived the country from advancing and the people ill-prepared to compete in the knowledge era.

Now that it has realised its folly, the government must be bold to address the root of the problems. It should not blame the citizens for voicing their dissatisfaction and displeasure over the switch now to use English in teaching Mathematics and Science, for the schools lack the resources. The mistakes made in the past will just be repeated.

How many more disasters must the government wrings on its citizens before it accepts the reality of the problems it may cause in its knee-jerk policies?

It is time for all Malaysians to come to their senses and vote wisely. We have to choose our politicians with more care as we will be giving them power to run the country and our lives. Let's not choose leaders who determine policies according to their whims and fancies and uses threats to control the masses.

We have enough of all their injustices by way of their arrogance and stupidity (or shall I put it blatantly, abuse of power) to last us this generation.

As Lord Acton's oft-quoted line put so eloquently, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
