PAS lodged three separate police reports today on incorrect information given by the heads of the polling centres in filling Form 14 during the 13th general election on May 5.

Form 14 is the vote tallying form used by polling centre heads and is given to the representatives of the election candidates.

The report for the Pulai constituency was lodged by PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub, while PAS central committee member Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad lodged the report for the Kuala Selangor constituency and the party's legal and human rights department chairperson Ahmad Zamri Asa'ad Khuzaimi lodged the report for Titiwangsa.

NONE According to the PAS online journal Harakahdaily , the reports were lodged at the Dang Wangi police station today by the three, who were the GE13 candidates in those constituencies.

PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu ( left ) said today the party decided to lodge the reports as there appeared to be wrong information in the filling up of Form 14, and this is considered an election offence.

Mohamad, or Mat Sabu as he is widely known, said the Election Court dismissed the party's election petitions when it submitted the Form 14 discrepancy in court. The court rejected the matter on grounds that it does not have jurisdiction to hear the complaint on such an offence.

'Court said it had no jurisdiction'

"The Election Commission had said that if there was any deficiency in the election, the parties can bring the matter to court. When we brought the issue of Form 14 it was rejected as the court said it does not have jurisdiction to hear it as it is a criminal offence," Mat Sabu said.

"Following that, we decided to lodge the police reports over this, so that the police can investigate."

Sepang MP Mohamed Hanipa Maidin said the reports were lodged as there had been a violation under Section 4(a) of the Election Offences Act 1954, related to incorrect particulars in Form 14.

Hanipa said PAS has asked for reports on such violations to be lodged nationwide.

"These three are the first reports lodged over the Form 14 matter. We will liaise with the police to keep us up-to-date on the progress ofn their investigations," he said, adding that PAS leaders would also send a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the election matters and the weaknesses of the Election Commission.
