From the Election Commission, all we hear are excuses, excuses, excuses.

A vote is about the selection of a representative to carry our voice to parliament. This is the overriding principle. Everything else is secondary. Yet in the interview, not once was this mentioned.

The EC instead talked about services and facilities. These are not their job as there are pockets in Malaysia with little development, which by "coincidence" happen to be opposition areas, and clearly indicates the failure of the Barisan National to govern justly and wisely.

Perhaps the EC is proposing a reversal of roles? If such is the case, then the Ministry of Transport, Housing and Development and other ministries, governmental departments and agencies should put under the purview of parliament. The executive could then concentrate on making the laws! What utter nonsense!

One man (or woman), one vote, one value. If the EC cannot understand this basic principle of democracy, it should resign en masse for competent (and definitely, more intelligent) successors.
