A Thai university has removed a photo from its Facebook page of students taking an exam wearing anti-cheating blinkers after the image drew criticism, reports said today.

Kasetsart University’s Student Administrative Board on Wednesday posted the photo of 100 students in the agro-industry faculty wearing headbands with sheets of paper on both sides to prevent them from peeking at each other’s exam papers.

The board removed the post yesterday after the image drew a slew of negative comments, the Bangkok Post said.

The board explained that the anti-cheating hats were necessary as the exam room was small, cramming the students close to each other.

“Using the hats was a failure even if everyone in the room passed the exam,” said Thammasat University professor Kasian Tejpira in a Facebook post.

Wuttichai Kapilakarn, the university’s rector, promised to look into the matter.
