Non-donors have no right to know

I would like to refer to Art Chan's letter, Give 'itemised billing' of Ras Adiba's operation.
In the first place, did the writer personally donate any money to her? If he did not (as I), we have no business to suggest this. Even if he had, I am sure he was not forced to do it.
Does he (and the public) have the right to know how much has been spent on the surgery and the particulars? In any donation appeal, it is up to the public whether they'd support it or not.
The only thing that irked me about Ras Adiba's appeal is the publicity that she got compared with those that ordinary people obtained. I hope the VIPS who have helped Ras Adiba will also donate to others, too.
