The organisers for the friendly match between FC Barcelona and Malaysia at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday could be blacklisted and have their licence suspended if they are found guilty of misconduct in handling the match.

NONE Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said in a statement yesterday he had already instructed Sports Commissioner Ahmad Shaprawi Ismail to start investigations into the controversy surrounding the match.

"He (Ahmad Shaprawi) will also be investigating the roles of the organisers, Malaysia Stadium Corporation as well as the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), in the match," he said.

Khairy said his ministry may also work with FAM to make recommendations to the International Federation of Football Association (Fifa), which has the power to revoke the organiser's match agent licence.

"We view this very seriously and we are very concerned about the numerous allegations over what went wrong during the match," Khairy said.

There have been allegations that staff of the match organisers, BSC Soccer Malaysia Sdn Bhd, has mishandled security during the match.

This includes claims that their security personnel demanded money from fans who had already paid for their tickets, and also manhandling a journalist who attempted to get into the mixed zone for a post-match press conference.
