Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has announced his resignation with effect from October 2003. Whoever takes over from him as prime minister must fight for a new Malaysia.

As students who love the country, we want to build the framework of a post-Mahathir era that is free, liberal and democratic. Our aspirations cross the boundaries of political, religious and racial differences in 10 areas.

  • Politics

    Yes  so as to prepare the country to face globalisation.

    No  that only serve truth as their objective and are not a propaganda agent of certain parties.

    No — Exploitation and misuse of the media
    Rejecting a media that does not take into account the truth because of vested interests, leading to public cynicism towards the media..

  • Technology

    Yes — Encouraging holistic and competitive technology
    Sourcing appropriate technology to serve needs that are truly holistic and not exclusive to some, for the creation of a knowledge-based society and economy.

    No — White-elephant technology
    Avoiding advanced technologies that are impractical or which can only be enjoyed by the privileged few.

  • Environment

    Yes — Sustainable development
    Achieving rapid development that balances economic and material needs with environmental needs, for the next generation of Malaysians.

    No — Unsustainable development
    Rejecting what only takes into account profit for capitalists but does not consider the needs of the environment and local communities.
