I read Dr Ananda Krishan's letter DAP's hudud protests a political ploy with much surprise. To hear a doctor utter such nonsense was beyond me .

He wrote that Terengganu was 90 percent Muslim and therefore should be entitled to implement the hudud (Islamic penal code) law.

Was a poll conducted to establish that all the 90 percent Muslims in Terengganu were in favour of the hudud implementation to serve as the law of the state?

Even if the hudud is only implemented for Muslims today, what guarantees are there it won't be enforced in time upon the non-Muslim minority in Malaysia?

Who is to say that if we do not work for them or will be coerced by them.

If we have never stood together in the past, now is the time to stand up for our rights — to fight for one common race and one common law that governs us all.

We will not be separated by race, religion or creed.

We will speak till our voices are heard in the hope someday this nation will grow to be one that celebrates diversity, one that respects its people and one that is a model for freedom and preservation.

Till then, fellow Malaysians, let your voices be heard.
