The Buletin Malaysia website set up by the National Security Division of the Prime Minister's Department is, in my opinion, a pure waste of taxpayers' money.

Who would believe or trust a website set up and managed, not by professional journalists or news organisations, but the National Security Division of the PM's Department?

The fact that it is set up and managed by the National Security Division in the PM's Department shows that thus far, the propaganda efforts of RTM, TV3 and all the newspapers owned and controlled by Umno, MCA and MIC have failed or backfired. Seen in this perspective, Buletin Malaysia is a vote of no-confidence against the official and mainstream media.

A functional question also arises: how to avoid overlapping of functions and roles between Buletin Malaysia and RTM? If RTM is not effective in disseminating government information and propaganda, then it should be shut down immediately so that the National Security Division in the PM's Department could take over the entire job. If not, then there is a duplication of resources, functions and roles which is economically wasteful.

Maybe the government should shut down the Information Ministry too. Let our energetic Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad also take over as the Information Minister.
