KUALA BESUT The world is watching as the Kuala Besut by-election is unique in the country's history and its outcome will change the political landscape of Terengganu, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim said.

Speaking at a campaign ceramah in Kampung Tok Saboh last night, Anwar said the world was watching to see if PAS could achieve it's 16:16 goal in the June 24 election.

NONE"Believe me, if we win it will change the politics in Terengganu. The world will pay attention after we win this by-election," the parliamentary opposition leader added.

Anwar said he would meet with Turkish Prime Minister Racep Tayyib Erdogan after Hari Raya Aidilfitri and he would bring news of the result if PAS wins the contest.

"I want to tell him, if PAS winds Kuala Besut, it will change the political landscape of Terengganu and change will come with the people giving more attention to national politics.

"Therefore don't take the by-election lightly," he told the crowd of 1,000 present at the ceramah.

Anwar reminded Pakatan supporters to strengthen their spirit and to resist being "bought" or to swallow the "lies" of the opponent.

Calling on the election machinery to stand firm against Umno's might, he warned that the BN was doing its very best to defend the seat.

"It is a challenge to the might of Umno and the other BN leaders.

"It is possible (a win will) see another state election. If this happens, the rakyat will benefit. Kuala Besut will benefit," Anwar added.
