KeADILan information chief Ruslan Kassim was released at about 4.15pm today. Ruslan was picked up last Friday at 3am and ordered by a magistrate to be remanded for seven days for investigations into the "Black 14" people's gathering last Saturday.

Ruslan was the first of seven KeADILan leaders to be picked up in a preventive strike by the police to stop the Saturday gathering at the National Mosque to mark the first anniversary of former DPM Anwar Ibrahim's sentencing.

He was released on police bail but is required to report to the police headquarters next Monday at 10am as a release condition.

Other KeADILan leaders detained, including youth chief Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor, its youth assistant secretary, N. Gopalankrishnan, and vice-president Tian Chua, were reported to have briefly met with Ruslan just before the latter's release..

The trio's fate would be known tomorrow when their remand order expires, and they could be released like Ruslan, or be ordered for further remand for up to seven more days.

Tian Chua is learnt to have conveyed a "message from his lock-up" urging his party members to continue with the struggle, especially at interstate level.

He called on them to work in small groups to protest to the Human Rights Commission as well as picket further if there was no action by the commission.
