Pulai Sebatang assemblyperson Tee Siew Kiong will file an appeal against his three-year suspension for going against the party by accepting the state executive councillor’s post.

Tee, who was appointed state tourism, trade and consumer affairs committee chairperson, said he has 14 days to the appeal after receiving an official letter from the MCA disciplinary committee three days ago.

He said the three-year suspension was unfair to him and too long as it would put him in a tight spot if the MCA were to decide to rescind its decision of not accepting cabinet and state executive council’s posts following its dismal performance in the 13th general election.

Although he did not toe the line, Tee said he accepted the post following the decree of the sultan of Johor.

“I have been in MCA for three decades, starting from the grassroots. I have deep loyalty and affection for the party. I will file the appeal next week,” he told reporters after opening by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair in Johor Baru today.

Tee, who was suspended by MCA on June 20, is now an MCA life member, having relinquished all party posts.
